We have rehabilitated an old factory in emptied Spain

Continuing with the logic of the project, we have not built a plant from scratch, but rather we have reused an old ceramics factory that already existed. This project is located in Villacé, an area of León that suffers the consequences of emptied Spain.

1930

The activity begins under the name “El Tejar”, with a concrete kiln fed with straw in which hand-made tiles and solid bricks were baked.

1950

With the name “El Cristo” a charcoal oven and a biscuit factory are installed, thus expanding production.

1975

As “González Carreño, S.L.” and, in line with the evolution of the sector, fuel oil is introduced as a fuel and production is multiplied. Subsequently, a tunnel oven was installed, and later, in 1999, the power supply was changed to gas and 200,000 pieces per day were reached.

2000

The thermal block begins to be produced, remaining faithful to the same spirit, integrating the accumulated artisan experience with the layout and handling of the most advanced technologies.

2016

The Ceramic factory is forced to cease activity due to the crisis in the sector.
